More Thorium Artwork from Suzanne Hobbs

A few weeks ago, I sent some of my powerpoint depictions of the thorium energy generation process to Suzanne Hobbs of PopAtomic Studios, wondering if she could work her artistic magic on it.

She sure did!

Thanks Suzanne! This is great!

Suzanne is good with her graphics but less so with her physics, methinks. in "The Thorium Energy Cycle" she shows how a neutron is headied for an U233 nucleus, but that's not how it goes!
Th232 is wht's dug out of the ground, and it catches neutrons quite efficiently. The resulting Th233 then will decay into fissile U233. Great picture could do with a "facts check".

I'm not sure you understood the picture. The fission of U-233 generates two or more neutrons. One of those causes the fission of another U-233, as depicted in the picture by the neutron heading for the U-233, another causes the transformation of Th-232 into U-233, regenerating the U-233 that was consumed to create the two neutrons in the first place. I think the picture depicts it just right.
