“A” is for Atom!
Officially released in 1953, A is for Atom is short animated promotional film dedicated to the explanation of the atom, fission, artificial transmutation, and potential uses of atomic energy.
This film is very basic and presents a rudimentary education on a topic that was not widely understood, even from a scientific standpoint, at the time. Oddly, even today a great many people lack an elementary understanding of the atom, fission, isotopes, atomic weight, etc. Therefore we hope this film is of some benefit as it does contain accurate, scientific information.
In any event, the animation is classic and still remains of great value. This video has been released into public domain and may be found in full version at archives.org.
