There is going to be a new symposium on supercritical CO2 power cycles, this time it will be held in Pittsburgh, PA on September 9 and 10, 2014. Information from previous symposiums can be found here: http://www.sco2powercyclesymposium.org/resource_center

I attended this conference on Tuesday and Wednesday this week and it was very interesting. There is a lot of work going on in the sCO2 field, much of it funded by DOE's "SunShot" initiative or by industrial interest in using sCO2 as a bottoming cycle for the exhaust gases of combustion gas turbines.

There is some interest in the cycle for use with nuclear reactors. All DOE interest up to this point seems to be oriented in coupling sCO2 power conversion with sodium-cooled fast reactors. I saw a presentation by a fellow from Argonne where he showed the plant layout of a sodium fast reactor coupled with sCO2 power conversion.

The papers/presentations from the 2014 Supercritical CO2 Power Cycles Symposium can be found at:

I guess the presentation to which Kirk is referring is :

Also a lot of information about the development of modern heat exchangers can be found in the papers/presentations.
