There is often a virtuous cross over of research done in different fields. Something learnt in one area can become applicable in another area. It seems that molten salt in proving to be useful in many areas. It's well known here for use in a Molten Salt Reactor. And it's used in the solar industry as a way of storing thermal energy. Now it seems it also has application in mineral processing for the mining sector. See the article.

Are there any conferences devoted to molten salt? It would seem that there is lots of opportunity for cross pollination of ideas and insights.
