Interesting. That is quite a lot of money.

If the metals can survive 1000C, can MSRs output at 900C or so for the sulfur-iodine cycle for hydrogen production?

I think it would be possible, but is it only at reduced power output? The power output of a MSR is proportion to the temperature difference between the fuel salt and the coolant salt. Increase the coolant salt to 900C, and not a lot of power can be taken out without either increasing the fuel salt (and hence the metal heat exchanger) well above 1000C, or having a massive heat exchanger requiring more pumps and volume.
