Hey man. I agree with most / all of that. I just didn't like the IMHO apparent attitude in the thread that proliferation is a non-concern. It is a concern, but it shouldn't dissuade us from pursuing all things nuclear.

I express a blase attitude about it because I don't consider this a public forum. I don't think its sensible to worry about things that are inevitable, we can't un-invent nuclear weapons. You can't repackage Pandora's box. Efforts to restrain nuclear weapons proliferation almost entirely restrain nuclear power proliferation, which is an unambiguously bad trade for the world.

The only proliferation counter measure that's proven effective is economic development. Nations/Groups with a lot to lose won't pursue nuclear weapons; those with nothing to lose may pursue nuclear weapons.
