Kirk, I haven't read the article. Looking forward to it.

But I'm not surprised.
The financial community has been speculating about the
need for some time.

This is a Vulnerability index for a supply disruption for the planet, by country.

There are two sides to every market for finite resources.
A sellers market and a buyers market.

We are on the downside of a sellers market for many commodities.

Improved supply of separative work is good in that most countries need not resort to small, uneconomic units. For further improvement, it may be the best policy to standardise the LEU to 20%, the legal maximum. The fuel suppliers should blend it with required amount of thorium for high burn up nuclear fuel. The thorium will double as a consumable poison and fertile component of fuel. AHWR300-LEU.broc is an eye-opener in the matter. The calculations show that thorium blending in Th-20%LEU MOX reduces uranium requirements and uses thorium as part of fuel. Fuel costs will also go down.
This supplementary use will bring awareness of use of thorium as fuel. In the long run breeder reactors like LFTR and uranium fueled reactors like LMFBR and IFR will also be necessary but the path will be smoother.
